2013 has been a really great year for me so far and there are quite a few things I am looking forward to.
The event I think I am looking forward to the most is running the Kansas City marathon in October! I’ve only been a casual runner for the past year or so and I had toyed with the idea of making a serious commitment to a race for quite some time. I had the motivational burst I needed back in February and just signed up on a whim one day. My wonderful significant other, Jordan went out and bought me a pair of Brooks PureFlow and I haven’t been let down thus far!
I’ve trekked over 50 miles in those shoes and I really do still love them. I’m following the training plan “The Marathon for Non- Runners” which is a sixteen week program that will take me up to the day of the Marathon.
It’s going to be quite the journey and I am wanting to record it in this blog. I’ve picked out a 30 day blogging challenge just to keep me on track at first (my biggest fear of starting a blog was that I would run out of things to write about) so I might deviate a little bit but we will see where this all leads me!
